HOME FEATURES RMS Scientific Imaging Competition

03 - 06 July 2017, Manchester, UK

At each Microscience Microscopy Congress, the shortlisted images from the Royal Microscopical Society's Scientific Imaging Competition are displayed for all visitors to see, with the winners being announced during the event.

The RMS are now accepting entries to the competition on the RMS website. Entries will be accepted until 28 April 2017.

The Scientific Imaging Competition has six different categories:

  • Electron Microscopy - Life Sciences
  • Electron Microscopy - Physical Sciences
  • Light Microscopy - Life Sciences
  • Light Microscopy - Physical Sciences
  • Scanning Probe Microscopy
  • Video

Images are judged not only aesthetically but also on the scientific skill involved in taking the image. The last competition was covered by both BBC Earth and The Times so it is a great way for you to showcase your best images!

Previous events

mmc2017 is the latest in an impressive list of events dating back to the 1960s starting with the Micro conference and exhibition series. This later became MicroScience which grew ever-bigger until 2010. The RMS hosted the European Microscopy Congress in 2012 which was the catalyst for the current Microscience Microscopy Congress series.
