From July 2017, the new generation pE-300 Series now delivers DOUBLE THE INTENSITY AT THE SAMPLE PLANE. All systems allow adjustment of output in 1% steps, giving precise control of carefully chosen LEDs that give spectral coverage for all your everyday fluorophores: DAPI, CFP, Aqua, GFP, FITC, TRITC, TxRed, Cy5 and many more.
A microscope which is populated with a number of single band (“SB”) filter sets will typically have DAPI excitation at 365nm and a microscope with multi-band (“MB”) filter(s) has excitation at 400nm. The user can specify the configuration which is appropriate for their microscope. Above are the SB and MB spectrum showing double the intensity. LED illumination means no mercury to dispose of and lower energy costs due to low power consumption and the precise control offered. With the launch of our enhanced pE-300 Series, we are extremely proud to announce that, with all 3 channels at full power, all models use just 46 Watts. That is almost a quadruple efficiency increase!
This compares to other LED technology that uses 120 to 350 Watts. This
leap forward in technology makes LEDs more attractive when compared to old
Mercury or Metal Halide technology. Where "
green" funding is available, the reduction in institutional energy usage
improves the return on investment.
