Bursaries

There are a number of bursaries available to assist you to attend mmc2025 incorporating EMAG 2025. Please take a look at the information below:

Exhibition Day Visitor Bursaries

Although it is free to attend the mmc2025 incorporating EMAG 2025 exhibition, the Royal Microscopical Society understand that funding your travel to events can be difficult.

For this reason, the RMS are offering a number of day visitor travel bursaries of up to £50 to help those planning to attend the mmc2025 incorporating EMAG2025 exhibition. As a limited bursary fund, awards will be made on a first come first served basis.

Bursary amounts will be staggered based on distance travelled from normal place of work to the event in Manchester and are available to both members and non-members of the RMS.

  • Up to £10 for travel within Greater Manchester
  • Up to £50 for travel outside Greater Manchester

The following points should be noted when applying for an mmc2025 incorporating EMAG 2025 Exhibition bursary:

  • It is anticipated that where these sums are insufficient to cover all costs of attending mmc2025 incorporating EMAG 2025, they will be used as ‘leverage’ for additional support from elsewhere.
  • After the exhibition, bursary recipients will prepare a short report which may be published in infocus magazine.
  • Payment will be made after the event, on completing an RMS Expense Form and producing the relevant receipts and report, the deadline for which is 30 September 2025.

  • Recipients must have registered, paid and attended mmc2025 incorporating EMAG 2025
  • A Care & Support Grant may be awarded in addition to a travel bursary
